The concept underlying the visitor center entails the creation of distinct functional units capable of accommodating various program requirements such  as exhibitions, library and cafe. These units are designed to embody the architectural style of the Miwok people, characterized by a minimalist oval structure. The intervals between the domes are intended to facilitate visitors’ exploration of the island along a circular pathway while simultaneously affording them unobstructed views of the surroundings.
